Messianic Prophecies - Psalms

Psalm 2:1 - Messiah is the Son of God

Why do the nations conspire, and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and his anointed, saying, "Let us burst their bonds asunder, and cast their cords from us." He who sits in the heavens laughs; the LORD has them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, "I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill."
I will tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my son, today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron, and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel." Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, with trembling kiss his feet, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way; for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
See Matthew 4.3,6, 26.63-64, Mark 15.39, Luke 1.35, 22.70, John 1.34, 11.27, Romans 1.3-4, Galatians 2.20, Ephesians 4.13, Hebrews 4.14, 1 John 4.15, 5.10-13, and Revelation 2.18.

Psalm 16:10- Messiah to be Raised from the Dead

For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. (See Mark 16:6, Acts 2:25-32, and 13:35-37.)

Psalm 22:7-8- Messiah to be Mocked and Insulted

All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him. (see Matthew 27:39-43, Mark, 15:29, Luke 23:35 )

Psalm 22:14-17- Messiah to be Crucified, Hands and Feet Pierced, and Lots Cast for Garments

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. (see Matthew 27:35, John 19:28)

Psalm 45:2-6 - Messiah is a King

You are the fairest of the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you for ever. Gird your sword upon your thigh, O mighty one, in your glory and majesty! In your majesty ride forth victoriously for the cause of truth and to defend the right; let your right hand teach you dread deeds! Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; the peoples fall under you. Your divine throne endures for ever and ever. Your royal scepter is a scepter of equity; (see Hebrews 1:8)

Psalm 78:1-4 - Messiah Will Speak in Parables

Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth! I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old, things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders which he has wrought. (see Matthew 13:34-35)

Psalm 110 - Messiah is the High Priest

The LORD says to my lord: "Sit at my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool." The LORD sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your foes! Your people will offer themselves freely on the day you lead your host upon the holy mountains. From the womb of the morning like dew your youth will come to you. The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind, "You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek." The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath. He will execute judgment among the nations, filling them with corpses; he will shatter chiefs over the wide earth. He will drink from the brook by the way; therefore he will lift up his head. (see Hebrews 5:5-6)

Psalm 118:19-22 - Messiah is the gate to heaven and the cornerstone rejected by men

Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the LORD. This is the gate of the LORD; the righteous shall enter through it. I thank thee that thou hast answered me and hast become my salvation. The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner. (see Rom 9:33, 1Pe 2:8, 1Co 1:22-25)
